CPAFMA Tagline Contest

The CPA Firm Management Association (formerly Association for Accounting Administration) is launching a tagline contest for the organization and hoping our members will embrace their creativity and knowledge of the profession to help us find the perfect tagline!  If you don’t consider yourself creative, perhaps your firm has a marketing director you could reach out to?  Make it a collaborative effort. 

Our tagline should be simple and its implementation reinforce our vision.  It should be simple yet convey what is most important to our audience of members, accounting professionals and affiliate service providers. The tagline should be a quick way to describe who is a part of CPAFMA and who the organization is aiming to become.

The organization went through an extensive strategic planning session in November of 2013 and developed the following mission, vision and value statements -  

Mission Statement

To be a recognized leader in CPA firm practice management delivering valuable education and collaboration opportunities for those interested in elevating their practice and strategically growing their firms. We will achieve our mission by providing our members with expert thinking, support, education, inspiration and advocacy.

Vision Statement

By 2018, CPAFMA will be a strategic enabler of relationships and provider of valuable connections, resources and education to support holistic CPA firm practice management in the following areas:

  • Strategy/Partner Issues
  • Human Resources
  • Technology
  • Finance
  • Marketing and Business Development
  • In-firm Communications
  • Client Service
  • Operations and Facilities

Values Statement

At the CPA Firm Management Administration, we are committed to:

  • Expertise and Learning – Developing and honing our unique expertise in firm practice management, conducting research and providing members access to expert thinking, education, guidance and resources in CPA firm strategic planning, operations, finance, technology and human resources.
  • Professionalism – Attracting members who manage their firms with the utmost professionalism and adhere to a set of guiding principles when executing their roles.
  • Lasting Relationships and Collaboration – Providing our members meaningful collaboration and networking opportunities and encourage them to develop deep and long-lasting relationships.  These relationships allow members to truly collaborate by identifying areas of similarity, sharing best practices, supporting and encouraging each other to learn and grow.

The selected tagline will be used primarily on external communications to an audience that doesn’t know much about what we do.   Our plan is to use it in conjunction with logo but not incorporate it as a part of our logo.  It won’t be used on all materials or in all situations. 

We are looking for something that is memorable and captures the essence of CPAFMA.  It will be the essence of our messaging.  Keep in mind that the tagline will become the heart of our brand and such a natural outgrowth of our name that two will be inextricably linked.

The professionals tell us no more than eight words long but we are not looking to stifle the creativity.

The deadline for submissions is October 13, 2015 at midnight.  Simply email your submissions to info@cpafma.org.  A panel of judges will determine the winning tagline and the entrant will receive a $500 gift card.  The gift card can be used for anything from helping to pay your registration fee or travel to the 2016 National Practice Management Conference or the newest device on the market.
