Course Description

Often, employers are hiring veterans and those veterans have the opportunity to either participate in the major medical that the employer is offering, or opt out and use TRICARE as their primary insurance. If a TRICARE Supplement is offered, employees are much more likely to utilize TRICARE and the TRICARE Supplement thereby providing a savings to themselves on their total out of pocket expenses as well as a significant savings to the employer. This session will share information about TRICARE programs and how CPAs can make a financially sound recommendation to their clients that hire retired military under the age of 65, especially in such industries like Aerospace, Defense, Government Contractors, Manufacturing, Hospitals, Security, Technology and Major Airlines.

Key Takeaways:

- Niche benefit programs that can help groups with minimal effort but have great returns;
- Understanding TRICARE programs and the impact to the medical costs for the retired veteran
- Carving out the retired veterans can dramatically reduce costs for self-insured clients
