Course Description

Bill Reeb, Chief Executive Officer of Succession Institute and CPAFMA Advisory Board Member, will have a conversation with thought-leader, AICPA Chair and Chair of the Association of International Certified Professional Accountants, Kimberly Ellison-Taylor. Discussion will focus on the CPA of today and more importantly, tomorrow. As Kimberly transitions chairmanships, she will discuss what she has seen as Chair and what we, as firm managers, can do to contribute to the success of the profession and more importantly our talent. Presenter and Moderator Bios
Kimberly N. Ellison-Taylor, CPA, CGMA, is Chairman of AICPA Board of Directors and Chair of the Association of International Certified Professional Accountants. Kimberly has a lengthy history of volunteering for the profession, including serving as a member of the AICPA Business and Industry Executive Committee as well as the AICPA Board of Directors where she served as a member of the Audit and Finance committees. She also worked with the Benevolent Fund, and has served as a Council representative. Kimberly is a past Chair of the Maryland Association of CPAs, and has served on many of its committees, including the New Young Professional Network and Tomorrow's CPA. Kimberly is currently the Global Accounting Strategy Director for the Financial and Professional Services Industries for Oracle America, a leader in cloud solutions and enterprise technology. In this capacity, she provides insight to help drive innovation in this important domain, particularly as the computing paradigm shifts to Cloud and SaaS.

Previously, she served as the Global Practice team leader for Health and Human Services, working with teams worldwide where she developed and executed strategies on Cloud, Big Data, Security, Fraud Prevention/Detection, Customer Experience, and Modernization. Prior to Oracle, Kimberly worked in leadership roles at numerous other major companies and organizations, including the NASA Goddard Space Flight Center; Motorola; KPMG; and Prince George's County Government, where she served as Chief Information Technology Officer. Kimberly received her bachelor's degree from the University of Maryland, Baltimore County; an Accounting Certificate from the Community College of Baltimore County, an MBA from Loyola University and Master's of Science in Information Technology and a Chief Information Officer Certificate from Carnegie Mellon University. She currently resides in Maryland with her husband and two sons.

Bill Reeb has been consulting for three decades to all sizes of businesses, from Mom and Pop operations to Fortune 100 companies, primarily in the areas of organizational structure and processes, governance, automation, and revenue generation. He decided to add the credentials of CPA behind his advisory work and became a CPA in 1986. Prior to his life as a CPA, he worked for IBM in sales back in the late 70’s. As an entrepreneur, Bill has founded seven small businesses, he had two ladies clothing stores, one retail computer software store, a software development firm, a computer consulting firm, a CPA firm and his current management consulting firm – Succession Institute, LLC. Bill lectures throughout the U.S. and Canada and has been featured on numerous video-taped and live television programs. He is internationally published with hundreds of articles and columns to his credit. He currently authors a bi-monthly column called “In the Bill-iverse” which is distributed by a number of State CPA Societies as part of their Practice Management e-newsletter. Besides being published by various magazines, journals and newspapers, Bill and his partner, Dom Cingoranelli, have co-authored two books on Succession titled, Securing the Future: Building Your Firm’s Succession Plan with its companion field guide called, Securing the Future: Implementing Your Firm’s Succession Plan. He and his partner also co-authored the fourth edition of their consulting book called, Becoming a Trusted Business Advisor, How to Add Value, Improve Client Loyalty, and Increase Profits. Bill’s newest book is titled, The Overachiever’s Guide to Getting Unstuck: Replan, Reprioritize, Reaffirm.

Bill is an active volunteer within his profession, having served in many leadership roles in both the State and National organizations. On the national level, he is a past member of the AICPA Board of Directors, past and current member of AICPA Council, and past Commissioner on the AICPA’s National Accreditation Commission, and currently the Vice Chair Nominee for the AICPA. He also serves as an advisory member on the Board of CPAFMA. Bill has been honored by being named as a CPA Ambassador, was presented the Pathfinder Award and served as the Texas Vision Delegate. Accounting Today has recognized his efforts by listing him as one of the “Top 100 Most Influential CPAs”, CPA Magazine has named him as one of the “Top 100 Most Influential Practitioners”, and Inside Public Accounting has listed him as one of the “Top 10 Most Recommended CPA Firm Consultants”. Bill enjoys a number of hobbies. He is an avid golfer, skier, and enjoys staying active. He spends the majority of his free time as an instructor teaching (as well as continually learning) six different styles of martial arts.

Delivery System

  • All programs are delivered using the Zoom platform.
  • Confirmations will include log-in instructions.
  • Participants are able to participate using any device with an Internet connect (if the device does not have speakers, the participant can also dial-in) or they can participate with audio only by dialing in.
  • All registrants will receive a link to the MAPCast’s recording by email within 48 business hours of event’s conclusion.
  • There will be assistance available to help with technical and connectivity issues up to 10 minutes prior to the start of the presentation.

Registration

All registration is done on-line with the names and email addresses of each individual guest. Log-in details will be emailed to all registrants approximately 1-2 days prior to each session.

Refund Policy

CPAFMA will not issue refunds for MAPCasts. If a registrant is unable to participate in the MAPCast and sends written notice to info@cpafma.org 48 hours prior to the session, a credit will be provided for a future MAPCast. Alert the CPAFMA staff member monitoring the MAPCast if technical difficulties are encountered and technical support will be provided to eliminate problems with future MAPCasts.

Additional Information

Live participation is required for CPE credit and polling questions must be answered to show active participation. All registrants will receive an email following the session with links to the slides and/or handouts, and a link to the MAPCast recording (unless otherwise stated). If you are unable to participate in the live session, you can still watch the recorded session, but you will not be eligible for CPE credits.
